Your physical and mental wellbeing are key to having a Limitless Life.

So lets do a quick wellbeing check in

  • How much sleep do you get?

Sleep is important for your mental and physical wellbeing, it gives the brain time to process and store and the body time to repair. We need 7 to 8 hours a night, naps help if we don’t manage that but they cant make up for the quality sleep our body needs.

  • Do you get 150 mins of exercise a week?

This is the current NHS recommendations (2016). I am not a big fan of most forms of exercise so firstly I would suggest find the exercise that works for. Secondly don’t forget to be active in your life in general, if you sit at a desk all day take time to get up and move on a regular basis, know that gardening and housework can be as strenuous as going to the gym, get off one stop early to work and walk a little more every day.

  • Do you drink enough water?

If we are even 2% dehydrated our minds and bodies function less effectively so make sure you drink enough water every day, you will feel the benefit.

  • How much pre prepared/junk food do you eat?

The more you know about what is in the food you eat the more you can ensure it is the best food for you. I am not one for “fads” but I have recently experimented with reducing the amount of sugar in my life. I haven’t had a Haribo or a piece of chocolate for almost 4 months, I don’t miss it and the energy dips I have had in the past have disappeared.

  • On a scale of 1 – 10 how stressed are you at the moment?

Stress is our perceived ability to cope in any situation, it is something that is actually under our control, but we need to find our own coping mechanisms to ensure that even when we feel under pressure we still have the mental and physical ability to do our best.

  • Do you find time to quiet your mind on a regular basis?

The practice of Mindfulness, focussing in here and Now rather than allowing our mind to dart backwards and forwards. Studies have shown that by creating time to be mindful on a daily basis the logical thinking part of our brain improves and the part of our brain which stimulates the fight or flight reaction becomes smaller.

This isn’t a preachy blog about what you must do to be healthier, rather it is a reminder of what we all know, that caring for bodies and our minds is important. So take time to introduce some better practices in your life if you think there is room.

Believe that you can make those changes. Doing so sends a message to your unconscious mind about how much you value yourself, by looking after yourself every day you raise your Confidence levels as you tell yourself “I am worth it”!
