Value Yourself – Finding Your Personal Work/life Balance

Its about having the Confidence and Self Belief to be yourself and to make decisions based on what matter to you. Strong self belief enables you to make empowering choices that reduce conflict and stress. Sounds good doesn’t it?

Being Resilient

The current “big thing” relating to this way of thinking is the concept of resilience. The idea that the strongest person is the one who has all the tools to bounce back no matter what the situation really appeals to me.  Rather than focusing on protective measures around stress management, it’s about putting yourself out there and having amongst other things the confidence and self belief to know that you can handle even the most difficult situations.

Like a gardener aiming to win the prize for the biggest tomato at the local fete, we have to learn how to nurture and care for ourselves. It might feel a little selfish, we may think that others need our help more or that we haven’t got the time to do it. Its important to recognise that caring starts with ourselves. You need to look after your health and well-being and find a way to balance life in a way that works for you.

How to value yourself

In business we know that preparation is key. Valuing yourself is about preparing yourself for the world you live in and the challenges you might face. So how can you value yourself every day?

Find your work/life balance – and by that I mean one that is right for you because each one of us is different. There are only 24 hours in a day, make sure you spend them wisely on what matters to you.

Know what is important to you – your values are key to how you make decisions and how you find that work/life balance. If you don’t know what you value you may end up struggling with inner conflict and outer stress. So take time to get to know yourself and what is important to you.

Look after yourself – your wellbeing matters, to you and those around you. We all know “the rules” the simple things that will add to your health and wellbeing:. eat well, exercise, finding “down time”. Limitless for Life people know this and find ways to build them into their lives. It really does make a difference.
