The Confidence Habit Week 2 – Expanding Your Comfort Zone

So how was Week 1 of The Confidence Habit for you? Starting gently we chose activities that would build your confidence and self belief by giving you opportunities to engage with yourself and others in a positive way. Week 2 is a little more challenging as we look at expanding your comfort zone. By exploring your comfort zone and thinking about where you may play it a little too safe we can ensure that your comfort zone doesn’t limit you and what you are aiming to achieve.

We spend most of our time in our comfort zone, it is where our “normal” is. When we are out of our comfort zone we feel anxious and stressed, and this can often have a negative impact on our confidence and self belief. So the bigger our comfort zone the more confident we will feel about any situation. Of course to expand it we have to take opportunities to step out of it first, taking considered risks, doing things in new and different ways. Things may not always go the way you planned but every time you take a chance you push the boundaries of your life wider, building your confidence and self belief.

Expanding your comfort zone

So what can you do this week to build your confidence and self belief?

Day 8 – Today take time to reflect on your comfort zone. How big is it, does it vary depending on the situation? In what type of situation would you like to feel more comfortable?

Day 9 – Do you have something to say? Take the plunge and feedback constructively about a person or situation.

Day 10 – Learn something new today, building your knowledge and skills helps to expand your comfort zone.

Day 11 – Ask someone for help. You don’t have to know everything as long as you have the confidence to ask for help when you need it.

Day 12 – Do something differently today, you might surprise yourself with the result !

Day 13 – Start a conversation with a stranger. Its great to meet new people and get different perspectives.

Day 14 – Is it a risk? Today is the day to take that chance with the confidence that you can manage whatever the result is.
